Developing Mindfulness  Ok so if you are like me and working on yourself, you've probably seen over and over again is to be mindful. Mindfulness involves having a deep sense of awareness and acceptance of our own thoughts, feelings and surroundings without judgement. People typically develop mindfulness through practices like meditation, deep breathing, and focusing on the present moment.  Regular practice helps to strengthen mindfulness skills over time. I've found the most effective mindfulness practices for myself are: Meditation  Focusing attention on the breath, body sensations, or a specific object. (See here for more on meditation) Deep Breathing Exercises  Inhaling and exhaling slowly to calm the mind and body. Body Scanning Bringing awareness to different parts of the body, noticing sensations without judgment.  Ideas that Inspire Motivation And How To Keep It Going Motivation can seem to be a mysterious entity—sometimes it’s there, and sometimes it isn’t. That said, most people do have the motivation to get up out of bed every morning and live life.  But what exactly causes them to act? The drive behind motivation varies from person to person and can stem from a combination of internal and external sources. Here are a few theories behind the force that carries us toward our goals. Instinct:  Although this theory has somewhat fallen out of vogue, the idea here is that people are programmed to behave a certain way to due to evolution. One of the prime examples of this theory at work is animal migration. But when it comes to people, this theory may not be able to explain more complex motivations around non-biological goals.
